Gold Diggers, Panning for Gold, Clacton Pavilion

Studios East Ltd designed, constructed and installed a fully themed panning for gold attraction as part of a new development scheme at the Clacton Pavilion. Three water troughs with complete filtration systems were produced to maximise the available space and provide ‘panning’ for around twenty five people. A five metre high water tower was built with a hand painted logo to attract visitors from afar and a large animated water wheel provides movement and interest. The area includes a mine shaft entrance, track with cart and other general theming items. An animated ‘Gold Crush Machine’ was built to add an additional interactive element to the visitor experience. The ‘gold’ pieces are put into the machine and the visitor then pushes the start button, firing up the gold crusher. Fully animated with grinding audio sounds and smoke effects give the illusion that the gold has been crushed. A drawer at the bottom is opened which has a gold ‘prize’ inside.
